Migration issue cpanel EOL version to newer
Description: Pre-migration testing and preparation to decommision hosting 12. SSH connection refused when attempting to connect via transfer tool on hosting.phxhosting.net. SSH to each individual machine confirmed via Moba Xterm. Temporary allow in Config FIrewall, connection from opposite machine on both machines. Still not allowing connection. hosting.phxhosting.net had entry in host allow file denying ssh from 188.8.131.52. Set to allow, attempted to connect via transfer tool. Error received pasted below.
Resolution: Appears to be related to ciphers/protocols. For this instance (2021-03-09) referred to Platinum Server Management.
Primary Issue: cpanel tls cipher/protocol
Error Message: This connection is untrusted.
The SSH connection to “184.108.40.206” failed because of an error:
(XID pe7ddc) The system stopped waiting to connect to “220.127.116.11” on port “22” after 15 seconds.
The system also attempted to avoid SSH via a direct connection to WHM on “18.104.22.168”. However, the connection failed its TLS validation (OK). Because of this, “22.214.171.124” cannot prove its identity, and an attacker may be impersonating that server.
It is not recommended that you continue. You should fix the TLS verification problem with “126.96.36.199” before you try again. For more information, read our SSL troubleshooting documentation.
If you continue, the system will create an insecure connection to “188.8.131.52” to verify its cPanel & WHM version information. The version of cPanel & WHM on “184.108.40.206” must be version 90 or later.
